Marc, that is the clearest definition that I have ever heard, and I like that you allow sexuality back into the discussion. I think most of us feel very sexy being naked initially and find it hard to understand that this quickly falls away. The two are not equal, but they can be in the right contexts. I have often wondered for myself whether I’m an exhibitionist or a voyeur or both. And yes I have these qualities however, what I got so much from naturism was being actually able to expose my body without shame, to see the realities of other’s bodies, and ultimately to accept my own body and become present in nature and able to enjoy the caresses of sea, sun, and the breeze in my pubes. Such a wonderfully empowering feeling that I believe we should all know it and of course share it socially together. I still don’t mind being looked at, and I like to see others, if it does get sexy we can take it elsewhere just as you would in a clothed world… you would go to a place where you could rip each others clothes off and enjoy sex and nudity!
Very nicely written. We have long felt that as nudists, we were both part exhibitionist and part voyeur. Does that make it sexual, sometimes yes, most times no. The reality is what is in both your heart and your mind. We try not to judge lest we be judged.
I agree whole heartedly. Without the boundaries you refer to, the naturist movement would be dead in my opinion. One of the steps I take is to give the person the web address to AANR. Then I encourage them to check it out themselves. The response I usually get is first surprise and then understanding of what nudism and naturism is really about. If they want to take anymore steps I will help them. At least they have better understanding of what we as naturists/nudists do in social settings. Remember, most of the comments like what Marc has described comes from a positive of ignorance. As a retired educator, I take the view of educating the person. In my opinion, that is best done with information that is factual.
This article needs to be pinned to the top of every single naturist social media and naturist resort site.
I've never had to explain that to anyone. Am I the only one?
You're lucky!
Did you make any headway with your friend?
Not really, but the discussion probably planted a seed. Let's see if it grows.

Thank you Stephen, fully aligned.
For me it’s feeling the cool crisp air and the wind on my body. All goes to calm.
At home I can only go out on the screened in porch at night. If there isn’t a bright moon. That is the best feeling.
I’m afraid someone will see me. Then what???
When you pants are down your covers blown.
